Ofek Aerial Photography has won a bid offered by MCC, an American fund engaged in projects for fighting starvation and illiteracy in Africa, for mapping 40,000 sqkm in Burkina Faso.
The approximately 1 million dollar bid includes satellite image processing, mapping, orthophoto, creating vectoral and topographic maps, and more.
The project is based on data acquired from SPOT satellite images that Ofek shall process, using cutting edge technology that enables conversion of the digital information into high precision topographic and orthophoto maps.
These maps shall aid in agricultural development, laying down of new water pipelines, and establishing a transportation system in Burkina Faso.
